To response to the many interests and love we received about our snack boxes, we’ve renewed our snack box and came up with a more affordable version of our snack box “JAPANeid mini”. Although its smaller, you will still get loads of delicious snacks filled to the brim inside a Japanese-style bag.
OUR STORY & MISSION
Japanese snacks is widely known for being delicious, with some never-before-seen variety and unique packaging. But we often seen and heard foreigners with dietary restrictions, including Muslims, finding it hard to pick out what they can eat.
OUR MISSION is to help Muslims in any way possible to have a great journey in Japan by sharing the grooviest and much-loved Japanese treats and food products. We wish this could help increase the Muslim-friendly/Halal options of Japan.
Of course, people other than Muslims are also more than welcome to munch with us!

JAPANeid goods are available as souvenirs at the famous halal Japanese restaurant ‘MATSURI’, which draws 50,000 Muslim tourists visiting Japan each year. You can see ours displayed at the centre of its souvenir corner^^
Our Muslim-friendly Policy
The JAPANeid curation team put our heart and soul into delivering awesome Japanese snacks to you!
- Each item is checked by our Muslim staff
- We check the labels and confirm with the manufacturers before use for the ingredients and production lines
- We only select items that have THE 3 NOs:
- NO alcohol drinks
- NO animal ingredients (except milk, eggs, seafood)*1
- NO syubhah– doubtful ingredients with unidentified source*2
- We only select items that are safe from cross-contamination with substances of non-halal animals and alcoholic drinks*3
- We also accepts when an item has added alcohol (ethanol) with content less than 0.5%. This percentage is based on the standards of global halal organisations*4
*1 Animal ingredients refer to pig-based (e.g. pork or lard) and other non-halal animals, including halal animals that are not slaughtered according to Islamic law like chicken or cow
*2 Doubtful ingredients refer to gelatine, shortening, emulsifier, etc. We only accept those that are confirmed to be from plant-based/vegetable-derived sources
*3 Safe from cross-contamination refers to:
・the production line is 100% free from non-halal derivatives products
・the production line shared with non-halal derivatives products, but they cleaned the line properly and it is free from cross-contamination
*4 We refer to the standards of organisations such as JAKIM (Malaysia) / MUI (Indonesia) / MUIS (Singapore)
