We are Salam Groovy Japan, a media outlet introducing Muslims to business, tourism and culture in Japan. Since our establishment in 2020, we have also been engaging, step by step, in charity work.

We gave halal Hida beef during Ramadan 2020 for the Muslim interns at the Japan Da’wah center.

For this year’s Eid-al Fitr, we also donated halal food to the Muslim international students at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS).

And it was when we donated the students at TUFS, we heard about the difficulties that the Muslim students are experiencing in this Covid-19 pandemic. This led to us conducting this Help Muslims in Japan In Need Project through crowdfunding.

Product Description & Cooking Method

Halal-certified Japanese emergency food by a Japanese company. Made at its halal central kitchen that comply with the stringent international halal standards, including JAKIM (Malaysia), MUI (Indonesia), MUIS (Singapore), Gulf Accreditation Center (GAC), Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA).

The emergency food can be stored for up to 5 years at room temperature. Won the Gold Award in the inbound category of the Emergency Foods Award 2019 organized by the Disaster Prevention Safety Association.

■ How to Heat the Pouch
There are two ways you can heat up the food inside the pouch: ① using hot water or ② using the microwave.
If you want to use method ①, just put the whole pouch inside hot water. Once it’s done, open the pouch then serve the food on a plate.
For method ②, open the pouch and put the food on a plate. Then, just heat it normally in the microwave and enjoy.
*Do not heat this retort pouch directly in the microwave as it could cause a fire hazard.

■ Gomoku Okowa (Steamed Glutinous Rice)

Ingredients: Glutinous rice (domestic), shimeji mushroom, carrot, burdock, soy sauce-like seasoning, bonito soup stock
This product is manufactured with products containing “wheat, eggs, milk, buckwheat, prawns, crab, peanuts”, so please be careful if you are allergic to any of these.
