“Tokyo Halal Deli & Cafe” opened at Rikkyo University

Rikkyo University (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) has started a cafeteria “Tokyo Halal Deli & Cafe, ” They officially opened its first halal food restaurant, “Tokyo Halal Deli & Cafe,” in Ikebukuro Campus where it was selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Top Global University Creation Support Project” and has been promoting internationalization. In recent years, the number of foreign students from Islamic countries has been increasing, and they set up the “Prayer Room” on the Ikebukuro campus. The establishment of a halal food cafeteria is a part of such measures for internationalization and diversification. They offer a menu centered on naan, curry, and vegetables baked in a tandoori pot.
