Displays food by pictogram, To cater for foreign tourists towards the Osaka Expo 2025

With 2 years and a half left towards the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, initiatives are in progress to accommodate the diverse dietary of tourists from abroad, including Muslims and vegetarians. On 22 November, the Kansai Economic Federation (KANKEIREN) has been conducting a demonstration test in restaurants within Osaka City by displaying the food ingredients used by pictograms on the menus, as a way to help foreign visitors understand them easier.

Also, the Expo is planning to set up a system to provide all visitors an easier access to food and drink, regardless of language barriers, on the man-made island of Yumeshima (the Expo venue).
