Muslim-friendly udon: For tourists to enjoy Kagawa’s signature sanuki udon

A Takamatsu (Kagawa)-based company operating udon restaurants, Atton (あっとん), has developed halal udon products that comply with the Islamic law, by avoiding using meat, alcohol-based seasonings and such, to make it easier for anyone visiting from overseas to taste Sanuki Udon*1. With a subsidy by the Kagawa prefecture, they have developed five types of halal-compliant frozen products, including kake-udon*2 and bukkake-udon*3.
